THE CAR COACH REPORTS:
Toyota On Top Edition
So it looks like Toyota is once again the world’s largest automaker. Years of recalls, wrongful death suits, the Japanese tsunami, and lackluster designs can’t stop the manufacturer from producing and selling the most cars anywhere and everywhere: http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424127887323375204578269181060493750.html
Moreover, in addition to being the largest automaker again, Toyota has done a remarkable job of making the public believe it’s the best. According to a Consumer Reports study that ran in Automotive News, Toyota was ranked #1 based on “quality, safety, value, performance, design, technology and green attributes.” The story also said the first two categories were the most important to buyers.
I’m confused. Isn’t this the same company that recently had dozens of safety recalls? In fact, Toyota just announced its third recall since October affecting more than 1 million cars: http://www.nydailynews.com/autos/faulty-airbags-force-massive-toyota-recall-article-1.1252032
So what gives? How can Car Company be perceived as the safest when it recently has had arguably the most recalls and related driver fatalities on its hands? How can the driving public think for a moment that Toyota ranks highest in quality when their cars were recently catching fire and setting off airbags, not to mention unintentionally accelerating just a few years ago?

All I can say is that Toyota must have the best marketing and PR folks in the business.

My Final Thought:
The Feds are at it again. They want to put more bio junk in your gas tank: http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2013/01/31/despite-court-ruling-epa-raises-biofuel-estimate/
Really EPA? The only organic material I want to add to anyone’s gas tank is sugar, and I’d like to pour it in all your cars for being so unrealistic.
On second thought, that’s probably a bad idea. We would get stuck with the bill to fix it.
Love your car! See you next week!
